Getting Ready for the Day
The elegance of the rooms and the decor at the Buhl Mansion were the perfectly suited for Judy and Ian’s intimate wedding ceremony amongst their very closest friends and family. The artistic flair and the details of each room were beautiful and unique, and all painstakingly curated and displayed.
Ian and his mother shared a tender moment when she assisted him with his boutonniere as well as a very special pin depicting a cardinal. It was a very sentimental gift in honor of his late Grandmother.
The bride enjoyed getting ready for her wedding day in the “Artist Loft”, a room on the very highest floor of Buhl Mansion.
From her absolutely gorgeous hair and make-up to her accessories and jewelry, Judy looked like a princess. The most unbelievable part of this entire ensemble was Judy’s wedding dress – which she made herself!
Yes, you read that correctly.
She made her own wedding dress…and it was stunning! Judy was a classic and elegant bride, in every way, and she had her heart set on getting married outside, in the beautiful gardens and grounds of Buhl Mansion, but there was a problem…it was raining.
We watched the radar intensely, and reassured the couple that the rain would pass, and that’s exactly what happened. The sun even came out briefly for the short ceremony in front of the water fountain, at the end of a long set of well manicured hedge rows.
Judy and Ian got married in front of the gorgeous water fountain and pond on the grounds of Buhl Mansion. During the ceremony, which was brief but extremely heartfelt, there were butterflies flittering about right near the bride and groom, and it was no coincidence. Judy is a huge butterfly lover, and even has multiple ear-piercings with butterfly earrings. It appears she willed them to show up on her big day, and she couldn’t have been more excited.
The bride and groom read their own vows to each other, and it was very touching. After they were announced husband and wife, they made their way back down the path towards Buhl Mansion as their family and friends showered them with cheers and bubbles and smiles.
Buhl Mansion's Stained Glass Window
We couldn’t wait to shoot in front of this absolutely remarkable stained glass window that Buhl Mansion is famous for. Our couple and the stained glass window did not disappoint.
Inside Buhl Mansion
There are so many amazing locations and settings inside and around Buhl Mansion. The artwork on display, as well as the ornate woodwork and classic lines make it a photographers dream. A classic bride and groom in a classic setting. What more could you ask for?
The Bride, the Groom, and Buhl Mansion
We made our way outside for some photos of our newly married bride and groom, and the building and grounds of Buhl Mansion did not disappoint us. One thing that can’t be overstated is how absolutely smitten and in love with each other these two are. It’s undeniable. You can see it in their eyes when they gaze at each other. It was really a beautiful thing to witness, be a part of, and capture.
We can’t wait to share the FULL wedding gallery – Stay Tuned!
