From the moment we stepped into Sheena’s parents’ Ohio home, where the day began before their wedding at La Vera Party center, the energy was undeniable. Her Croatian heritage came to life through the sound of traditional music, laughter in every room, and a palpable sense of excitement. Upstairs, Sheena was surrounded by the women closest to her. As she stepped into her dress, her mother presented her with a custom embroidered handkerchief. Not long after, her father saw her for the first time as a bride, standing on the staircase of their family home. Tears filled his eyes immediately. It was a moment of genuine, deep emotion, the kind that reminds you what weddings are really about.
Meanwhile, Jason was getting ready with his two sons – a special time that set the tone for the rest of the day. A few nerves are natural, but mostly, there was anticipation and pride. Seeing him surrounded by his boys, preparing for such a meaningful moment, felt deeply personal. Jason’s mother helped him pin on his boutonniere. It was a quiet, emotional pause in the middle of the morning bustle – a tearful exchange between mother and son that said more than words could. These small moments, often tucked into the in-between , are some of the ones that stay with us most.
And when he saw Sheena for their first look, everything clicked into place. His entire demeanor shifted – it was all ease, happiness, and the unmistakable look of someone completely in love.
Their ceremony was held at the couple’s family church and reflected everything they hold dear: faith, tradition, and family. The service was led by Sheena’s cousin – a priest who traveled from Canada to officiate – making the exchange of vows even more heartfelt.
Sheena and Jason chose to have their portraits taken at Squire’s Castle in Willoughby Hills, Ohio – a striking, timeless backdrop that added just the right amount of fairytale charm to their gallery. The weather, the soft light, and the love between them all came together naturally.
The celebration continued at La Vera Party Center, a venue in Willoughby Hills known for its spacious ballroom and warm ambiance. The music kept going – so did the laughter, the hugs, the rounds of shots.
