A Timeless St. Clair Ballroom Wedding
in Downtown Cleveland |
Anna & Drew
Some wedding days feel timeless from the moment they begin. Anna and Drew’s St. Clair Ballroom Wedding in Cleveland was exactly that – a day rooted in classic elegance, beautiful architecture and a celebration that still felt completely like them.
After a traditional church ceremony in Shaker Heights, the celebration moved into downtown Cleveland for portraits among the city’s architecture and an elegant reception at St. Clair Ballroom at Key Center. Anna had envisioned wedding photographs that would feel timeless, with an emphasis on black and white imagery, candid moments and editorial portraiture. Every element of the day seemed made for exactly that.
And underneath all that elegance were two people who genuinely love having fun together. From the laughter during their portraits to the packed dance floor later that evening, Anna and Drew gave us the perfect balance of beauty and personality.

Getting Ready at Cleveland Marriott Downtown
Anna began the day at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown just steps from St. Clair Ballroom and surrounded by some of downtown Cleveland’s most recognizable architecture.
From the beginning, her bridal look set the visual tone for the day. Delicate lace, a long veil and a beautifully classic silhouette gave her portraits an almost royal quality – elegant without feeling overdone and completely removed from anything overly trend-driven.
A Timeless Cleveland Wedding Style with a Black & White Focus
Black and white played a large role throughout the day as requested by the Bride, along with clean compositions, natural movement and portraits inspired more by editorial photography.
Editorial Bridal Portraits in Downtown Cleveland
We took advantage of downtown Cleveland for a series of portraits of Anna alone.
Against the city’s architecture, her lace gown and sweeping veil took on an entirely different feeling.
Cleveland’s mix of historic and modern architecture gave us a backdrop that allowed the bridal fashion and movement of the veil to take center stage.
A Classic Church Ceremony in Shaker Heights
Anna and Drew were married during a traditional church ceremony in Shaker Heights surrounded by their closest family and friends. With a small wedding party – just one attendant standing beside each of them – the ceremony felt intimate even within the formality of the setting.
Wedding Portraits: Where Editorial Meets the Unscripted
This is where Anna and Drew’s wedding story really comes together. Their portraits at the church in Shaker Heights move effortlessly between intentional editorial imagery, dramatic compositions and the completely unscripted moments happening in between. There is laughter and movement alongside the quieter, more carefully composed frames – photographs that document not only how beautiful the day looked, but how it actually felt to be there.
That balance was especially fitting for Anna and Drew. Their wedding was undeniably elegant and timeless, but never overly serious. The photographs reflect both sides of them: the refinement and beauty they envisioned for the day and the playful, genuine connection that makes them who they are.
A St. Clair Ballroom Wedding Reception at Key Center
Anna and Drew welcomed their guests to St. Clair Ballroom at Key Center for their downtown Cleveland reception. Located beside Key Tower and connected to the Cleveland Marriott Downtown, the ballroom places a wedding directly within one of Cleveland’s most recognizable downtown settings.
The classic feel of the day continued into the reception, but the mood became increasingly relaxed as the evening went on. These two love a party, and once the formalities were over, that side of them came out quickly.
A Dress Change—and a Completely Different Energy
Later in the evening, Anna traded her wedding gown for a mini dress, and the photographs changed right along with her.
We leaned into movement, direct flash and a more candid, almost paparazzi-inspired feeling. It was intentionally less polished than the portraits earlier in the day -and that is exactly why the two parts work so well together.
The wedding began with lace, veils and quiet black-and-white portraits. It ended with dancing, laughter and the kind of photographs that feel like flashes from a night you never wanted to end.
