Sapphire Creek Winery Wedding of Kaelin & Jesse
Getting Ready for the Day
Kaelin and her bridal party got ready upstairs at Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens in their convenient and private bridal suite, and then decided to take a little walk out in the gardens to show off their custom made attire.
The Groom - Before the Ceremony
Jesse and the guys got ready downstairs at Sapphire Creek Winery, in the awesome basement bar and lounge area. It’s the perfect space for the guys to do their thing before the ceremony, and to have a drink, a snack, and get dressed for the day.
It was great to see Jesse and his soon to be father in law bond and be so close. Jesse also got to open a letter from his soon to be bride, and he didn’t hold back on his emotions. It was a very tender moment.
Putting on the Dress with Mom
Kaelin’s mom didn’t hide her emotions and her pure joy while she assisted her daughter with putting on her dress and her finishing touches, including her gorgeous veil. Her bridesmaids were happy to lend a hand as well. Kaelin was an absolutely stunning bride.
The First Look!
The walking path behind the main building at Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens is the IDEAL place for a first look between a bride and groom, and we took full advantage of the space with Kaelin and Jesse. Again, Jesse did not hold back his emotions when he laid eyes on his future wife for the first time, in her wedding dress.
It was extra special, as the family was able to watch from not far away, on the back patio of the winery.
Couples Portraits Before the Ceremony
Since the first look was finished, we took our couple for some portraits just by themselves. The grounds at Sapphire Creek are stunning and varied, from the natural layers in the woods to the bridges and the creek to the modern design aesthetic that incorporates water and fire and the surrounding nature into one. It’s a pleasure to photograph here, it really is.
The Bridal Party, Mom & the "Security"
After we finished our couples portraits, we moved on to some bridal party photos, as well as some photos with close family and friends. The connection between Kaelin and her mother is a strong one, and you can see the love they have for one another.
I can’t even think of the right words to describe the laughter and joy we all shared over the “ring security”. Those two boys were hilarious, and they loved being the center of attention for these shots. It was a lot of fun.
The ceremony was beautiful and full of emotions, but the sweetest thing were the Grandmother as the flower girls. It was so adorable, and it was so unique.
Unburying the Bourbon
Burying the bourbon is a southern tradition, and it is uniquely recreated at Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens for their wedding couples. Jesse and Kaelin happily shared their bourbon with family and friends to celebrate their new marriage and to celebrate their rainless wedding day – all thanks to burying the bourbon. Drink up!
The Grand Entrance
Kaelin and Jesse made their way back inside Sapphire Creek and it was time for some speeches, the cake cutting, and the oh so important first dances. Kaelin’s mother looks at her daughter with awe, as the newly married bride and her new husband make their way into the main hall and are welcomed with applause by their many loving and joyful guests.
Father of the Bride - Cake Cutting & First Dances
The father of the bride wasted no time with his speech, drawing laughter as well as tears as he told tales of Kaelin growing up and becoming the bride she was on that day. It was very heartfelt and genuine.
Kaelin and Jesse cut their cake flawlessly, fed each other, and prepared for their first dance as man and wife. They didn’t just dance – they had a choreographed piece prepared! It was wonderful to watch and capture.
Stealing the Show - The Bride & Her Grandfather
The moment of the night (and I don’t think anyone would disagree) was when Kaelin got to dance with her grandfather. He needed assistance to get out of his chair as well as dance, but that didn’t stop him one bit. And my goodness…look at how he looks at Kaelin.
This is what love looks like.
It was unbelievable, and there was not a dry eye in the house, including ours. This is what it is all about, and this is one of the reasons we love what we do so much.
Being able to be a part of a moment like this is one of the most rewarding things in the world, and we are forever grateful to our amazing clients and couples that welcome us into these moments with open arms and open hearts.
This was a thing of pure beauty. We will never forget it.
End of the Night
We stole Kaelin and Jesse away for a few late night photos around the grounds at Sapphire Creek. When the sun goes down, the venue comes alive with lights and flames and the water fountains and features that are all lit up as well. It’s quite beautiful, and it is extremely fun to photograph. Kaelin and Jesse were happy to oblige.
And that’s a wrap!
